Inflammation : Inspiratory chest pain can be from inflamation of the lining of the lungs (pleurisy) caused by infection (pneumonia, etc) and other conditions. Pain may also originate fro the joints between the breast-bone and ribs. See a doctor if OTC pain killers and NSAIDs like naproxen or ibuprofen do not help
