Concerning Symptom: Chest pain worse with breathing can be an important symptom. The worst thing it could be is pulmonary embolus, which is caused by a blood clot in your lungs. You are at risk for this if you are a smoker, are on birth control, have a family history of blood clots, or have made a long trip or been stationary for a long time recently. Numerous minor conditions cause the symptoms you mention as well.
