A member asked:

Ldl level 2 years ago was 104 normal. however i gained close to 15 lbs since then and need another test part of physical. could this still be normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely: Weight gain may have raised LDL but it is still likely to be in the normal range. At your age, testing once in 5 years is sufficient. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco or alcohol in any form. Practice safe sex.
