Cholesterol, including LDL& HDL is not significantly affect by eating just before the test, but serum triglycerides are ( as is blood sugar). Cholesterols are a steady state in the body. Many of my patients came for their yearly checkup right from work and we still sent out their blood for testing. If triglycerides or glucose were elevated, we would have them do a 12 hours and repeat the tests.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, LDL level of 120 is in the normal range. Wish you good health!
