A member asked:

Can a person take prednisone for the rest of their life?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Taking prednisone: Doctors sometimes do use Prednisone in patients for prolonged periods of time but only when there is no other choice. Prednisone is an excellent drug for reducing inflammation, but if used for more than just a short time (usually less than 2-3 weeks), it may cause serious health issues. Normally doctors try to shorten the duration of Prednisone treatment.
