Sometimes: Prednisone can cause both bone and joint problems. If you have had long treatment courses of prednisone, it could weaken the bone and make you more susceptible to stress fractures though I would expect some pain with weight bearing. Bone cysts unlikely in your age group. As always , if pain persists, see your doctor.
