A member asked:

Hiv negative following antibody test at 5 weeks post (potential) exposure of unknown status. can i relax?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not yet: You may get a HIV nucleic acid test in another 6 weeks, if that is negative, you can relax. Antibody tests should be repeated at 3 months, 6 months and a year after exposure.
