UTI needs urinalysis: for confirmation. UTIs are usually associated with urinary frequency, burning sensation with urination, & often pain deep to pubic bone &/or foul smelling urine. Blood tests do not provided answer regarding presence or absence of UTI. Blood test, with UTI, only necessary to establish severity of UTI if ascent to kidney & causing pyelonephritis, is suspected.
