Time will heal: If you had the injury less than four hours ago, you may put an ice pack on it to reduce swelling. If it has been more than 24 hours, you may use moist heat packs to facilitate the reduction of swelling. You may take over the counter pain medication like Mortrin. Watch for any weakness of abnormal sensation in the forearm or hand as that may indicate damage to ulnar nerve.
