Not that long: Usually the study is read that day or the following day. Your doctor should have the report by now. Some say no news is good news. Still I would call your doctor soon.

Should be done: This is a matter of communication, as likely films were read within 24-36 hrs, but report may be delayed. Would contact facility that did films, and also the referring doctor. Should be available by tomorrow at latest.

Depends on center: Most imaging center and hospital radiologists will create a formal report of your study any where from within a few hours to a few days of your scan. This is then sent to the ordering physician. How quickly they review these reports and contact you is unknown but you should call their office and set up an appointment to review your results.

Workflow: varies between facilities, but the MRI results should be available by now. If your doctor gets a mailed report, it might take a few days to receive. Most docs nowadays get an electronic or faxed report. Urgent results should have been telephoned to your doc by the radiologist. Call your doctor's office and ask about the results.
