How long does it usually take to get brain mri results?

It depends.....: Usually MRI results are read by the radiologist early on... Within a day and usually right away. However, the results must usually be given to your doctor which may take a few days... It's a good idea to ask your doctor this question.

Talk to your doctor: The images come out within minutes of your being in the scanner. Then, a report needs to be generated by a radiologist. Then, the report needs to be typed by a transcriptionist (unless the doctor uses a voice activated report generating system) . The report is then reviewed by the radiologist, and possible errors corrected prior to final signature of the report and mailing to your md.
