Other things: Consider losing weight if overweight. In addition, you want to focus on vastus medialis strengthening. Also, for some patients the use of a patellar tendon strap makes a big difference. Depending on how bad the condition is on MRI you could also consider the use of PRP/platelet derived growth factors. This last treatment can be controversial and some doctors might not agree with it.

Ask your orthopedic-: -surgeon. You may need to limit your activity, & if gets worse, an arthroscopic chondrplasty may be recommended. This is a progressive disease, and surgical treatment is a temporizing action.activity modification is still needed. Running, especially hills and inclines, stairs, jumping and cutting activity is also to be limited.
