Be evaluated!: the aging process should not include getting forgetful! If you notice your mother starting to have memory issues she should be seen by her family physician.

Many tests: Memory issues can be due to sleep deprivation, medication reactions, alcohol/ nutritional issues, B-12 deficiency, thyroid issues, vitamin D, infections, brain lesions, Alzheimers, strokes. So, blood tests, MRI study, etc would be a good way to start.
