Not all that bad: A doctors examination of the breast is recommended for all women. In addition, a mammogram is advised after 40 years of age, definitely by the time she turns 50 years. She should also do a breast self examination for any lump. If she does this once monthly, she will become better aware of her normal breast 'feel' and be able to tell if there is a change or a new lump, should that happen in future.
