Need more info: L5 refers to the 5th vertebrae of the lumbar spine. But the abnormality is not described. The human vertebral column (aka backbone or spine) consists of 24 articulating vertebrae, and nine fused vertebrae in the sacrum and the coccyx. Possible abnormalities on Xray are numerous, e.g. alignment, arthritis, intervertebral disk spacing, bone characteristics. See the doctor who ordered the test.
