Assume pubic hair..: Careful use of razor and shaving gel is ok. One could use a mechanical shaver to avoid injuries too. This may not be a medical question, but it is your choice but be safe to avoid cuts and nicks.

Whatever works: Whether you do or don't, respect the skin and its ability to break down or react to any lotion,cream, oil etc. that you try. Some find shaving creams or simple oils will help.A typical top opening single blade razor may work better than the popular multi-blade systems.Particularly if you have not shaved in a while.
