Yikes.: It sounds like your toe is definitely inflamed, possibly infected and potentially ingrown. Best thing to do is have it examined to determine your problem and the proper treatment. The fungus under the nail could be a contributing factor in your problem.

Possibly: Your pain is probably due to thickness of the nail secondary to the fungus therefore making it look and feel like and ingrown nail
