Aspiration: Usually, when we choke, we don't actually let the food into the lungs. On rare occasion, it can happen though. Concerning symptoms include continuing cough, fevers and chest pains. Food in the lungs is always bad news. Seek the care of a hospital/center that can evaluate you for this. Aspiration pneumonia is a VERY SERIOUS matter.
