What are the drugs used to treat thrombocytosis..when platelets counts is more than a million?

Cause?: First important to determine if the high platelet count is secondary to another medical problem (examples: anemia, infection, iron deficiency, autoimmune problem, bowel problem, heart problem, recent surgery or trauma, medication). If not, bone marrow and genetic testing is next. If essential thrombocytosis diagnosed, and there is a history/risk for clots or bleeding, then hydroxyurea and aspirin.
