Yes : given that you have DM and are now decreasing your intake is the reason for better BS control. If it takes glucerna for you to control your diet then please continue. Your A1c as you may know reflects 3 months control and so please have it checked at that time frame and not sooner. Diet is key in glycemic control. Best of luck
