A member asked:

Could mri see potentially normal sized lymphnodes as cancerous or is it too small? i don't know if they r enlarged so should i do mri to be sure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRI lymph nodes: MRI is an excellent imaging modality for evaluation of lymph node presence, size & shape. However, lymph node enlargement alone is not proof that cancer is present - a biopsy would be required to confirm the presence of cancer. In addition, cancer may occasionally be present in a small lymph node(s).
