Swollen Turbinates: Hello. Yes, swollen turbinates can cause head pressure and tightness. The link would be nasal and thus sinus function. When the nasal passages are blocked by swollen turbinates, the ability for the nose to warm, clean and humidify the air we breathe reduces and we then have a higher risk for infection. A sinus infection commonly has symptoms of head pressure and tightness. Consider afrin x 5 days
