A member asked:

Thx dr harsell. the liver met is 8cm and 7 cm, person at present weak and no appetite . can anything b done to the mets to stop bilirubin going up ? not now suitable for chemo

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Liver mets: Single liver mets can be resected surgically and improve survival. A few mets can sometimes be treated with RFA (radio-frequency ablation) if a person is a potential transplant recipient or highly symptomatic. Per-cutaneous drainage of dilated bile ducts might also reduce symptoms. Maybe hospice care could be consulted for other end of life options.
