Sometimes: while it is true that the bacteria have to get there from somewhere and while we know that poor hygiene can increase your risk of getting a UTI, sometimes it can be unavoidable. women are more likely to get UTIs because there is a shorter distance from the bacteria to the bladder, and pregnant women are more likely to have slow flow so bacteria collect more easily.
