Discuss: You need to be informed of the risk/benefits of starting the new treatment and be informed about how it is expected to help you. The biologics may cause immunosuppression and increase risk of infection. Since there are now many of them, there are relative risks. Ask the treating physicians about options, their interpretation of your disease severity, and risk of the new meds.

Yes: You are definitely at higher risk for infection and if you patients have MRSA, c-diff or hospital acquired pneumonia it could be difficult for your immune system to handle.
