I have a total of 6 stents, how long should i expect to be on plavix (clopidogrel) or other blood thinning medication?

Depends: It doesn't matter so much how many stents you have but why you have them, what do you your other arteries look like and when were they put in. For instance, if a patient had stents for a heart attack and got 2 stents and then got 2 more 8 months later and then another 2 in a year, i might recommend life long antiplatelet treatment with Aspirin (81 mg) and plavix (clopidogrel).

Ask doctor: 6 months up to forever on plavix (clopidogrel). Probably Aspirin forever.
