Started ritalin (methylphenidate) 2 days ago at 10mg 7am then noon & today took an xtra one at 3:30pm. fell asleep an hr later...is the dose too low?

Ritalin (methylphenidate) and sedation: You don't mention a diagnosis as of why you were started on Methylphenidate. If it was for Narcolepsy (not the first choice med) I would agree the dose is too low. If you are taking it to keep awake due to work or academic demands, that would not be advisable. If it is for ADHD (inability to sustain attention) you might actually not need a third dose. It would great to know if this keeps going.
