A member asked:

I am a male 33 years, just got a urine culture done that says minimal bacteria under 10,000...is that ok?

Yes: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your urine culture result does not indicate an infection.

Yes: Especially if you do not have symptoms strongly suggesting a urinary tract infection. There can be a few bacteria from contamination of the specimen.
