Many possiblities: Depending on how long the bump has been there and /or pain is associated with it. A purple bump under the tongue could have different causes from infection to normal varicose vein. An injury to the area, an infection of the sublingual salivary glands could also present itself as a purple bump. The area needs to be checked by a dentist or ENT.
