Patellofemoral pain: syndrome. It is caused by wearing down, roughening, or softening of the cartilage under the kneecap. Do not seat long time bend-knee position. Apply ice , take aleve (naproxen) or advil. May need an x-ray or mri. See your doctor or an ortho.
