X-rays: may not tell the whole story. Ligaments, tendons, and cartilage are not visualized on X-rays. Also, if X-rays are performed acutely, subtle nondisplaced fractures may be difficult to visualize. So if you are still having symptoms, see your doc. You may need follow up X-rays or an MRI.
