A member asked:

Ct shows thickening of the peritoneal reflections? dr didn't mention anything. ct was done for perirectal abcess.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Peritoneal lining: The peritoneum is a thin cellular lining that lines the inner abdominal wall and all of the organs and bowel loops within the abdomen and pelvis. It can become thickened for a variety of reasons, such as related to infection, inflammation, fibrosis, infarction, trauma, response to medication or chemotherapy, or cancer. The CT appearance of thickened peritoneal reflections by itself is nonspecific.
