Wrong assumption: Most people assume losing teeth is a natural consequence of the aging process. They don’t fall out from natural causes. Common causes of tooth loss are tooth decay, gum disease and trauma. By taking good care of your teeth and gums, you can protect them for a lifetime.

Periodontitis: Periodontal disease is the usual culprit. It is often a painless, slow progression of bone loss. For many people by the time they realize their teeth are loose, it's too late. That's why early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention are so important. Aging is not a guarantee you will loose your teeth.
