Typical? No: ...but it certainly isn't unheard of. Many women have abdominal complaints which seem related to their menstrual cycle. I would recommend that you consider omeprazole or ranitidine for as many days as you need it each month, and then get off of it in between. If that helps your problem, no other management is probably necessary. Good luck.
