A member asked:

Is there a self-treatment for compulsive lying?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: If a 44 year old has been compulsively lying for many yrs it is not going to be easy to stop. It is ingrained in his personality. That doesn't mean that you can't get help. Developing a therapeutic relationship will help you understand the roots of this problem and the therapist should also be able to help you become aware when you are repeating this pattern. 1st step is your motivation to stop.
