Combination Therapy.: Talking therapy ranks really high. Cognitive behavioral therapy can be quite effective. Psychiatric medications may be needed. Aim for daily exercise, 8 hours of sleep per night ; good nutrition with 5 servings of veggies ; 4 of fruit per day. Try tai chi, yoga, qi gong, progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing exercises ; meditation. Don't isolate - spend time with friends and stay active.

Treating OCD: The best treatment for OCD is cognitive behavioral therapy. This often involves exposure and ritual prevention. While this treatment is hard work the effects last. The biggest problem is finding a therapist who knows how to treat OCD properly

CBT: The most effective treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder is often cognitive-behavioral therapy. Antidepressants are sometimes used in conjunction with therapy, although medication alone is rarely effective in relieving the symptoms of OCD.
