Which state agencies regulate public health care?

State health dept: All states have a department of public health although the names might be a little different. Most counties and cities also have such departments. Their job frequently involves promotion rather than regulation and they get involved in epidemics, disease clusters, communicable disease, public sanitation including cleanliness in restaurants, etc.
