Abnormal menses: First things first, make sure you are NOT pregnant. If your test is negative, you are having anovulatory cycles either as a result of an imbalance of estrogen and progesterone that is made in the ovary and controls the menstrual cycle or an imbalance in your thyroid hormones. Seek medical attention to help determine the cause and to regulate your periods.
