Acromegaly?!: Increased production of growth hormone is a possibility easily diagnosed by lab tests Other important effects are rise in blood sugar ,pain and altered sensation in extremities and an increase in the size of head and feet and hands?!

Unusual: It is very unusual for height to increase in a 38 year old since the epihyses (growth plates on the long bones) usually close after periods start and once they are closed, your final height is reached. As we age we usually get shorter. An excess of growth hormone will cause increased height before the growth plates close but afterward tends to cause distortions of the facial features.

Good suggestion: You need to be checked out for that for sure....your doctor will also look for any any visual changes, headache, glucose metabolism problem, certain body part increase, voice change etc
