Periodontitis: Periodontal disease is usually not limited to one area of the mouth, although there are exceptions. The bacteria in your mouth cause the problem, and since they are in every nook and cranny, meticulous oral hygiene and professional care is necessary to keep the problem from "spreading". Seek treatment ASAP: The bacteria infection can spread through your mouth, enter the blood stream and affect other parts of the body. If you have have gum disease, you should seek treatment ASAP.
