Insulin resistance: Always ask for normal reference range. Different labs use different methods, sometimes w/different units. So a result of 57 w/o context (reference range) is close to useless. However, my guess is that it's elevated but that's really only true if blood drawn while fasting. Any time you eat, your insulin level will increase in response. But should be lowest when fasting.
