The usual dose.: 20 mg of omeprazole is an average dose. Very often patients need to remain on maintenance therapy to keep acid reflux under control. A lot of patients who cut back the dose or discontinue it will have their symptoms recur rather promptly. Talk to your doctor about how long you should stay on the medicine. Antireflux measures help also. Good luck.
