Yes, hope is real: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and many psychiatric disorders have significant research going currently as to underlying cause(s). We definitely know what we now diagnose appears to be on the surface level. OCD and others disorders likely have many underlying factors that lead to what we label each one. OCD: varies from person to person. You can google research on it. Research is going on. It can be very severe to very mild. Therapy will help and so will talking to friends. Exercise will decrease anxiety.
