A member asked:

I got the shot and still got shingles. why am i getting it again?

It's not a cure: The shingles shot is not a cure. It serves two purposes. First is to decrease the chance that you will have an outbreak. The second, and probably most important , that it decreases the pain of shingles in duration. Some people experience the pain for up to a year after the rash, this is decreased significantly by the shot.
