No: They are complementary tests. A stress test is useful for detecting high grade disease (blockage) that interferes with blood flow. It's a physiologic test. CT is anatomic. Any calcium score above 0=atherosclerosis is present-useless in known disease. CTA will rule out high grade blockage but isn't so good for determining severity once blockage is identified as calcium interferes.

No, similar: Current studies show that there is no difference in outcome. CT is probably more expensive. And nothing is better than a talk with a highly educated doctor who has time to discuss issues with you. Good luck.
