I have thyroid and high blood pressure issues which are under control by meds but i am retaining water in my legs and knees i also use water pills ?

Yes!: Some BP meds such as calcium channel blockers and minoxidil can aggravate fluid retention in the legs. This is usually counteracted by addition of diuretics, pills which make you urinate off the excess fluid. These agents tend to also lower BP
