Not typically: Remeron (mirtazapine) causing leukopenia is not a common occurrence and if occurring should stop. Periodically blood counts are checked. If there is a drop the medication is stopped. This is one of many medications can do this. Low counts over time can make you more susceptible to infecions but usually as part of another process.
