Takes time: The fever in a patient receiving chemo with low blood counts can be for reasons besides infection, which is aggressively treated to improve outcomes. Once the treatment is started, it generally takes ~ 3 days before any significant change is noted. Feel better:)

Takes time: In your physical condition, the likely reason you got the infection is that your immune system isn't working as strongly as it should. Antibiotics don't work immediately, and the body's response to the infection (any localizing symptoms, fever) can lag behind that. Be patient, and discuss your concerns (and be sure to follow up as directed) with your treating doctors.
