Cut: I would try to give your husband a break. I have nicked my kid's heads when using electric razors. Any cut is a possible portal for infection. So, I would just keep the area clean and try. Large, deep, gapping wounds often need stitches. I think you would have already told us if there was uncontrolled bleeding.
