A member asked:

Sister has 23.1 with her pituitary gland. ob/gyn found out through blood work. wants mri. is this necessary and could it be cancerous?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: I don't know exactly was measured, but if there's suspicion of a prolactinoma or other pituitary lesion, YES the MRI is necessary, and if there is a tumor, it can kill your sister very slowly and horribly even if it is benign. Let the study go forward.
